Solutions

- 4If you don't see "I forgot my PIN":
- 5Click "Sign-in options" and use your password instead
- 6Once logged in: Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options
- 7Under "PIN (Windows Hello)": click "I forgot my PIN"
- 8Create a new PIN after verifying your identity
Solution 2: Delete NGC Folder (Nuclear PIN Reset)
- 1Log in with your password (not PIN)
- 2Open File Explorer → navigate to:
- 3C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\
- 4You need to take ownership of the "Ngc" folder:
- 5Right-click Ngc → Properties → Security → Advanced
- 6Click "Change" next to Owner → type your username → Check Names → OK
- 7Check "Replace all child object permissions" → Apply
- 8Now delete the entire "Ngc" folder
- 9Restart the computer
- 10Go to Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options → set up a new PIN
Solution 3: Fix TPM Issues
- 1Windows Hello PIN uses the TPM chip
- 2Open tpm.msc → check if TPM is "Ready for use"
- 3If not ready: you may need to enable TPM in BIOS
- 4If TPM shows errors: try clearing it (WARNING: may affect BitLocker):
- 5Settings → Privacy & security → Windows Security → Device Security
- 6Click "Security processor details" → "Security processor troubleshooting"
- 7Click "Clear TPM" → restart
- 8After clearing: set up PIN again
- 9If using BitLocker: ensure you have your recovery key before clearing TPM
