Solutions

Solution 1: Reset Windows Hello PIN

  4. 4Set a new PIN
  5. 5This also resets the biometric data linked to the PIN

Solution 2: Re-enroll Fingerprint or Face

  2. 2Under Fingerprint recognition, click "Remove"
  3. 3Click "Set up" to re-enroll your fingerprint
  4. 4Scan the same finger multiple times at different angles
  5. 5For face: remove and re-enroll under Facial recognition

Solution 3: Update Biometric Driver

  1. 1Open Device Manager
  2. 2Expand "Biometric devices" (for fingerprint) or "Cameras" (for face)
  3. 3Right-click your biometric device > Update driver
  4. 4If not found, check your laptop manufacturer's support site
  5. 5Download and install the latest biometric/IR camera driver
  6. 6Restart and try Windows Hello setup again
