Solutions

Solution 1: Enable Audio in Recording Settings

  4. 4Set "Audio quality" to desired level
  5. 5Adjust "Microphone volume" and "System volume" sliders
  6. 6For Snipping Tool:
  7. 7Open Snipping Tool → click the microphone icon to enable audio
  8. 8Also click the system audio icon to capture desktop sound
  9. 9Select the correct microphone from the dropdown

Solution 2: Check Privacy and Microphone Permissions

  1. 1Open Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone
  2. 2Ensure "Microphone access" is toggled On
  3. 3Scroll down and ensure the recording app has permission
  4. 4Enable "Let desktop apps access your microphone" at the bottom
  5. 5Also check: Settings → System → Sound → Input
  6. 6Verify the correct microphone is selected as default
  7. 7Test the microphone with the "Test your microphone" button
  8. 8Adjust input volume if needed

Solution 3: Configure System Audio Capture

  1. 1For capturing system/desktop audio:
  2. 2Right-click the speaker icon in taskbar → Sound settings
  3. 3Scroll to "More sound settings"
  4. 4Go to the Recording tab
  5. 5Right-click in the empty area → "Show Disabled Devices"
  6. 6If "Stereo Mix" appears, right-click → Enable
  7. 7Set Stereo Mix as default recording device if needed
  8. 8Update audio drivers from manufacturer website if Stereo Mix is unavailable
  9. 9Restart the recording application after making changes
