You might be experiencing this problem if you notice:

Solutions
Solution 1: Reset Quick Access Database
- 1Clear the Quick Access cache:

- 10New files and folders will populate as you use them

Solution 2: Fix Privacy and History Settings
- 1Ensure Quick Access tracking is enabled:

- 4Check "Turn off display of recent search entries in the File Explorer search box"
- 5Set to Not Configured
- 6Also check: "Do not keep history of recently opened documents"
- 7Set to Not Configured
- 8If Quick Access is completely broken:
- 9Create new user profile to test
- 10If it works in new profile: old profile data is corrupted
- 11To migrate: copy pinned items from working profile
- 12Registry for Quick Access settings:
- 13HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
- 14ShowRecent and ShowFrequent DWORD values should be 1
