Solutions

Solution 1: Enable Touch Keyboard Icon on Taskbar

  1. 1Right-click the taskbar → Taskbar settings
  2. 2Find "Touch keyboard" or "Keyboard" in system tray icons
  3. 3Set to "Always" or "When no keyboard attached"
  4. 4If the option is missing: the Touch Keyboard service may be disabled
  5. 5Also try: right-click taskbar → check "Show touch keyboard button" (Win 10)
  6. 6The keyboard icon should appear in the system tray

Solution 2: Start Touch Keyboard Service

  1. 1Open Services (Win+R → services.msc)
  2. 2Find "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service"

  4. 4Click Start
  5. 5Also check "CTF Loader" is running: open Task Manager → look for ctfmon.exe
  6. 6If ctfmon.exe is not running: Win+R → ctfmon.exe → Enter
  7. 7To make it permanent: check HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run for ctfmon

Solution 3: Fix Touch Input Not Working

  1. 1If keyboard appears but touch input doesn't register:
  2. 2Device Manager → Human Interface Devices → find "HID-compliant touch screen"
  3. 3If disabled: right-click → Enable
  4. 4If missing: Action → Scan for hardware changes
  5. 5Try uninstalling the touch screen driver and restarting (Windows reinstalls automatically)

  7. 7For Surface devices: download the latest driver pack from Microsoft

Solution 4: Reset Touch Keyboard

  1. 1Open PowerShell as Administrator
