Solutions

Solution 1: Check Miracast Support

  1. 1Open Command Prompt
  2. 2Run: netsh wlan show drivers
  3. 3Look for "Wireless Display Supported: Yes"
  4. 4If "No": your WiFi adapter doesn't support Miracast
  5. 5You'll need a USB WiFi adapter that supports Miracast, or use HDMI
  6. 6Most WiFi 5 (802.11ac) and newer adapters support it

Solution 2: Connect to Wireless Display

  1. 1Press Win+K to open the Connect panel
  2. 2Or: Settings > System > Display > Multiple displays > Connect to a wireless display
  3. 3Ensure the receiving device (TV, projector) is in screen mirroring mode
  4. 4Select the device from the list
  5. 5Choose "Duplicate" or "Extend" as needed
  6. 6For Smart TVs: enable Screen Mirroring in the TV settings first

Solution 3: Fix Connection Failures

  1. 1Disconnect from VPN (Miracast needs local network)
  2. 2Ensure both devices are on the same WiFi network
  3. 3Update your WiFi adapter driver in Device Manager
  4. 4Update your display/GPU driver
  5. 5Disable and re-enable WiFi adapter
  6. 6Try: Settings > Apps > Optional features > Add "Wireless Display" if not installed
