You might be experiencing this problem if you notice:

Solution 1: Assign a Drive Letter

  4. 4Click "Add" > assign a letter (like E: or F:)
  5. 5Click OK — the drive should appear in File Explorer
  6. 6If the partition shows as "Unallocated": the partition was deleted

Solution 2: Fix RAW / Corrupted File System

  1. 1If Disk Management shows "RAW": the file system is corrupted
  2. 2First try: open Command Prompt as Admin

  4. 4If chkdsk can't fix it: try data recovery software first (Recuva, free)
  5. 5After recovering data: right-click the drive in Disk Management > Format
  6. 6Choose NTFS or exFAT (exFAT works on both Windows and Mac)

Solution 3: Reinstall USB Drive Driver

  2. 2Expand "Disk drives"
